Does Your Business Need Rackmount Monitors?

There are so many options to choose from when it comes to industrial video displays. LCD monitors are available in a wide variety of sizes, and there are tons of extras and options to choose from when you are purchasing custom industrial monitors. One popular option is that of rackmount monitors. If you've heard of rackmount systems, but aren't sure if they are right for your business, here are some facts that you need to consider.

Rackmount Monitors are Secure
If your business has to display video in high traffic areas, you know that monitors are going to be subject to vandalism or theft. This is an unfortunate fact, but it is one that you have to think about when you put video monitors on public display. It's far too easy for thieves to simply pick up a standard wall mounted LCD display. Rackmount displays keep your monitors safe and secure. Your monitors are protected because they are securely connected to racks. This extra layer of security protects against monitor theft. Using rackmounts allows you to install your monitors in hard to reach areas that will also keep them safe from vandalism.

Optimal Viewing Placement
Trying to install multiple monitors in a way that allows optimal viewing can be another challenge. This challenge, too, is overcome by using rackmount LCD monitors. You can install the rack in the very best spot, so that everyone can get the best possible view.  This is especially important in manufacturing plants and control rooms, where space may be limited.

Putting your video or data on display doesn't have to mean the chance of theft, vandalism or a bad angle for your viewers. With rackmount LCD monitors, you have the options you need to display your video from the best, most secure location possible.

Rackmount Monitors for Industrial Video Display

Companies in every industry are becoming more reliant on video display technology. It's not just advertising companies, or high tech industries that need rugged LCD monitors that can be displayed in a wide variety of environments. Running the gamut from executive offices, to houses of worship, the need for public video display continues to grow. While there are no cookie-cutter, off-the-shelf solutions that are up to the task of providing the video display options these businesses need, the rackmount monitors from TRU-VuMonitors.com are the perfect solution for these types of businesses.

Why Rack Mount?

A simple, on the desktop computer monitor won't suffice when one person needs to view multiple monitors simultaneously. Many industrial control rooms have several screens that must be displayed at once and monitored by a single person. Broadcast production studios also require staff members and producers to keep their eyes on several LCD screens at the same time. Rackmount displays are the perfect solution for these types of scenarios. They allow you to set up your rugged LCD monitors in a secure setting while allowing a single viewer to comfortably view multiple monitors.

A Video Solution with the Options You Need

The rackmount display options available at TRU-VuMonitors.com give you a wide range of input options, including VGA, Analog RGB, S-Video, Component (YPbPr), Composite (BNC Loop-Thru)DVI and HDMI. All of the major input options are covered, so you know that your video will be delivered with vibrant, crystal clear picture, no matter what type of input system you use. With rackmount monitors, you have the flexibility to display your video where you want while using the input options of your choice.

How To Select A Rack Mount Monitor

Industrial monitors are available in a wide range of sizes and configurations.  A popular style is rack mount monitors.  These are designed to mount easily inside an industry-standard 19” metal rack, and make very efficient use of space.  These are commonly used in broadcast studios, control rooms and industrial settings.

The highest of rack mount monitors is measured in rack units, or RU.  One RU = 1.75”.

As with other industrial monitors, rack mount LCD monitors offer a wide range of features.  Key considerations include:

•    Number of LCD Screens: How many images do you wish to display simultaneously?  Popular sizes feature dual 7” screens or triple 5” screens.  You can also have single LCD screens up to 20” in size, or up to ten 2” screens.
•    Screen Resolution: Higher resolution screens = better image quality.  But also be sure to match them to your video input signals.  Why use HD panels to display a 640 x 480 image?
•    Wide Viewing Angle: Narrow viewing angle screens means the images wash out or colors invert when viewing the screen from an angle.  Look for 130º or more.
•    Brightness: The LCD must be bright enough for your environment.  300 nits or more is optimal.
•    Touch Screen:  This option often greatly assists user interaction.
•    Adjustability:  Look for the ability to control each LCD individually.  An OSD (On Screen Display) is very helpful.
•    Tilt:  Rack mount monitor enclosures typically have “handles” at both ends to enable the user to tilt them up or down for optimal viewing angle.  180º tilt is best.
•    Video Inputs:  Be sure each LCD screen has a variety of video inputs.
•    Tally Lights indicate which of the screens is the “live” feed.
•    LED Backlights produce brighter and more uniform images than fluorescent backlights.

Industrial monitors in rack mount monitor enclosures provide convenient mounting in a space-saving design.  Enabling operators to view multiple screens simultaneously can greatly improve their efficiency.
